In true Facebook form, there have been some updates to posting and ad styles. You can now create a slideshow, upload photos as a carousel, and create a canvas. Let’s take a look at how these new additions can make your Facebook posting and advertising experience even more successful.

Slideshow:

Slideshow is a bite-sized alternative to a video. This lightweight version of video can reach Facebook users using multiple images in motion rather than just one simple image. It’s an easy way to reach more viewers and allows them to consume more content in a short time frame. Tell a story in 8 seconds with a few different images and voila, you may have a new fan.  The ad versions of this post are also cheaper, faster, and easier to create than your standard video ad but will still deliver the same effective punch you’re looking for.

Carousel:

Instead of a standard photo album upload, or sharing a single image – you can now upload images into what is called a “carousel.” This allows each image to have their own link and description and appear in a scrolling photo carousel. This is beneficial for showcasing products that may be housed at different link locations. When utilizing it as an ad, you’re able to promote several products or features at once, all with individuals links. There’s quite a benefit to having a variety. After all, variety is the spice of life!

Canvas:

Canvas goes above and beyond your traditional Facebook post/ad. Combine images, videos, and text to create a totally immersive story and captivate your audience in a whole new way. Enjoy a full-screen, mobile-optimized experience that combines all of your message channels into one user experience. Users interact with Canvas through taps, swipes, and pans all within Facebook’s interface where they can then also visit a link that takes them to your website to learn more about your business. Just keep in mind, this is a mobile experience – your content will take over the entirety of the user’s screen, so you’ll want to ensure the quality of the imagery is up to par.
