What happened on the web this week?
It was only a matter of time, but now they are rolling out to a pin-board near you! Pinterest promises that they will be “tasteful, relevant, transparent, and consistently improved based on your feedback,” so we’ll be interested to see how it all plays out.
In other social news, we’ve mentioned before that there are over 130.5 million blogs on Tumblr, but did you know it’s now the largest hosted blog platform on the web? That’s right, even over WordPress! The folks over at Moz recently wrote a blog including some actionable advice on how you can use Tumblr for online marketing that’s definitely worth a look.
Now, a lot of us here at Customer Magnetism, and we think probably the industry as a whole are real suckers for data. And earlier this week, Google also released some new (and as always, awesome) updates that will make your data-loving day. Updates to the Google Top Charts tool now allows access to trending topics within each category. This feature lets you to explore searches that are spiking in popularity, outside of what would be considered normal.
Speaking of data, we believe solid data can pretty much speak for itself. So if you weren’t convinced that your email design has to accommodate the expectations of mobile users, now is the time. According to a recent world-wide analysis by Litmus, 47% of emails are now opened on mobile devices. What are you doing to give that 47% a great user experience?
