Will Facebook’s New Feature Stick?

A feature previously exclusive to Facebook messaging has officially become a new addition to Facebook comments, and an amusing one at that. A number of stickers are now at your fingertips to send to friends when words don’t seem to be enough. Stickers are available to be posted on a friends timeline as a comment, in an event post, as well as a group post.

Branded Facebook stickers could be a smart marketing strategy for major brands with big budgets to take advantage of. If brands want to set themselves apart in the industry and create a marketing buzz, this would be a unique and fun way to do it that is out of the realm of standard marketing tactics we are used to seeing.

Among the first brands to create stickers for Facebook were the creators of Despicable Me 2, and popular mobile games like Cut the Rope and Candy Crush. Be on the look out for more major brands to hop on the bandwagon with Facebook stickers as word about the new feature spreads. It will be very interesting to see if the new feature sticks with Facebook users or peels off into the distance…
