More and more businesses are launching new products and services through social media marketing than ever before. They’re getting more and more creative in how they do it. It’s the latest trend in launching brands with a bang.
Take Oscar de la Renta, for example. Everything from Oscar has pretty much always been trendy. Now the designer and his company are bringing fashion and social trends together and taking them to a whole new level. They are launching a brand new fragrance in two weeks, something the company hasn’t done in a decade. It’s called Esprit D’Oscar.
What’s even more intriguing is that they are promoting it entirely through social media. With more than 120,000 fans on Facebook, 43,000 on Twitter and frequent posts to Tumblr, the campaign is using the social media landscape as a springboard to announce the Esprit D’Oscar debut. Oscar de la Renta is offering 5,000 free samples of the new fragrance through Facebook. Everyone else will have to pay the $98 for a 3.3 oz. bottle through pre-orders or when it hits the department store counters.
While social media marketing isn’t for everyone, it’s definitely working for Oscar de la Renta and OscarPRGirl, his social media fashionista.
