New eMarketer Report Emphasizes Growth of Mobile Search, Video

Our friends over at Search Engine Watch just posted a great explanation of a new mobile spending analysis released by eMarketer. In short, it predicts that as U.S. smartphone ownership continues to grow (and it will), the emphasis on messaging as a main form of mobile advertising will decrease as the channel turns more and more to search ads and rich media. What I found most intriguing was the prediction that while video will still remain a smaller portion of the mobile ad spend, it will experience rapid upward growth in the next few years. It’s definitely worth a look if you’re preparing to enter or expand your presence in the mobile space.
