Paid search isn’t just for huge, national companies. As Google’s ad platform has improved over the years with specialized targeting, extensions, and remarketing, it’s become a crazy-useful tool for everyone from Fortune 500s, to small, local shops.
According to Covario’s Global Search Advertising Spend Analysis, advertisers spent 18% more on paid search in 2012 than the year before. Not surprisingly, Google accounted for 86.5% of that spend while serving an impressive 93% of impressions. That’s a lot. Not to say advertising with other networks isn’t valuable, but if you’re just beginning to scope-out the display ad world, you’re going to want to look into Google.
So, where to start? Well, Google itself has a ton of helpful resources in getting started with your ad campaign, but sometimes what you really need is a cheat sheet. And in that case, we’ve got you covered.
Our Cheater’s Guide to Google Image Ad Sizes downloadable resource includes a PDF cheat sheet including details on file sizes and formats, as well as editable PSDs for creating your own images.
With all of this laid out, there’s really no excuse not to get started developing a display ad campaign today, is there?
