In November, Customer Magnetism joined the ForKids Thanksgiving Dinner Drive, where Customer Magnetism and its employees donated over 1,150 items for 50 families in the Hampton Roads area. We not only participated in the Thanksgiving Dinner Drive, but a few of us volunteered at the ForKids Holiday Shop in Norfolk. During our time volunteering, we did a couple of different things, including coloring angels for the Christmas Toy Drive and checking food expiration dates. We also purchased more food and made some home deliveries. Personally, it was extremely sad to firsthand see the poverty right here in the Hampton Roads area. We tend to forget during the holidays that there are people struggling and less fortunate.
Last week, ForKids contacted Customer Magnetism regarding the Holiday Shop for Christmas. After speaking with the Volunteer Coordinator at ForKids, it was decided that CM employees would lend a hand this week at the Holiday Shop in the Wards Corner section of Norfolk, Virginia. ForKids will be turning their Holiday Shop into a “toy store” where the children can “purchase” gifts for Christmas. The children will be given vouchers and will be joined by a volunteer to wander the many rows of toys. The interaction with the children is something special, and we didn’t want to miss out on this wonderful opportunity of giving back to the community. With double the amount of CM volunteers participating, our employees are truly looking forward to toy shopping with the children!
ForKids is an organization that is really dedicated to changing the lives of less fortunate children in the area. The Customer Magnetism family is honored and excited about the relationship we have built with ForKids this year and we look forward to being at the Holiday Shop this week.
