We continued our CM Cares charitable initiative on Sunday, with the JT Walk and Beach Party to raise money for the National ALS Foundation. The JT Walk in Virginia Beach is the largest ALS walk in America. This year’s walk raised $1,177,374. In addition to raising money to find treatment and a cure for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, aka Lou Gehrig’s disease, the JT Walkers are also able to donate money to various children’s charities, including Children’s Hospital of the King’s Daughters in nearby Norfolk.
Taking place at the beautiful Virginia Beach Oceanfront, with more than 20,000 total attendees and beautiful weather, a group of CM employees walked the boardwalk from 34th Street to 1st Street and back to 34th Street. When we reached the finish line, with King Neptune awaiting our arrival, we listened to live music and relaxed on the sand. With all of the rain we have had here recently, it was nice to get out of the house on such a beautiful day to walk the boardwalk and enjoy the beach for a great cause.
