Last week, Customer Magnetism donated over 1,150 items to the ForKids organization in support of the 2010 Thanksgiving Dinner Drive. ForKids is a non-profit organization that will be providing Thanksgiving dinners to over 400 local families in the Hampton Roads area of southeastern Virginia. Yesterday, Customer Magnetism employees volunteered at the ForKids Holiday Shop in Norfolk. The experience was both rewarding and almost indescribably touching.
Our employees arrived to help with many projects to prepare for the Thanksgiving Drive and for the Christmas Toy Shop. After speaking with the ForKids coordinator, we were informed that more supplies were needed, as more people had signed up, and some of the dinners donated by others were incomplete. A few of our employees headed to the nearest grocery store to pick up more brown sugar, marshmallows, paper towels and roaster pans, while other members of our group checked expiration dates, helped sort the dinner items and even made home deliveries to the disabled.
The 2010 Christmas Holiday Shop is the next step for ForKids. The organization will conduct a toy drive where the kids get to come into the shop and pick out toys for Christmas. In preparation for this, CM employees helped decorated angels to label all of the presents once they are donated. Our employees got in touch with their creative, inner child and colored, cut and labeled several angels.
CM is extremely proud and honored that we were able to participate with ForKids in an effort to give back to the local community. Sometimes, it is easy to take for granted what we have. This is a reminder that there are less fortunate people in this world that need our help. Thank you Customer Magnetism, CM employees, and ForKids for the amazing job you did. You truly are making a difference!
