2010 Mashable Awards Closing in on Voting Deadline

Have you voted for the Mashable Awards yet? You’ve got 9 days left. Created by Mashable.com to recognize “major innovations and achievements” in social and digital media arenas, the contest features 25 categories this year. Some of the topics include Best Mobile Device, Best Social Media Management Tool, Best Web Video and Entrepreneur of the Year.

mashableFor those unfamiliar with Mashable, it is a news website with its finger on the pulse of trends, culture and technology. Founded in 2005 by Pete Cashmore, it receives more than 30 million monthly page views. Its daily blogs and articles are frequently the news breakers on anything Internet-related, including business transactions, website developments and hot topics in social media. Its audience reaches far and wide across many demographic groups, which makes a Mashable Award nothing to sneeze at.

The Mashable community will vote on the top five finalists in each category a maximum of once per day until Dec. 15th. Last year’s Mashable Awards featured 50 winners from among more than 70,000 nominees. To vote, users must log in to Mashable using their Facebook.com or Twitter.com social media accounts. The user’s votes are then promoted on Facebook or Twitter.

The winners will be announced at the 2010 Mashable Awards Gala on Thursday, Jan. 6th. The event will be held in Las Vegas as a kick-off to the 2011 International CES Convention. If you aren’t planning to attend, you can catch a live stream on Mashable.com that night from 8 to 10 p.m.
