Virginia Beach Mayflower Marathon Food Drive

Now here’s a marathon anyone can get into.

Not ready to run a 5K any time soon? That’s okay! Participate with Customer Magnetism in the 13th Annual Mayflower Marathon, which is a Food Drive happening this Friday through Sunday, benefiting the Food Bank of Southeastern Virginia.

One of out every five people living in Southeastern Virginia looked to the Foodbank for help last year, and this Friday, November 20, 2009, we will be dropping off non-perishable food items at Pembroke Mall, and encourage all locals to do the same.

106.9 The Fox & FM 99 WNOR radio stations will be on site promoting the event.

While all donations will be accepted, the Foodbank has expressed some specific needs:

-canned meat (beef, pork, chicken, and tuna)
-soup, stew, and chili
-canned fruits and vegetables
-beans
-rice
-pasta
-peanut butter
-nutritious snacks
-diapers
-toilet paper
-and 100% fruit juice.

The 13th Annual Mayflower Marathon will kick off at 5:30am Friday morning and will end at 3:00pm Sunday afternoon.
