Chamber of Commerce Seminar: Finding Your Mobile Audience

If you are in Southeastern Virginia next week, check out the Hampton Roads Chamber of Commerce monthly Business Education series seminar. Customer Magnetism’s web developer, Lindsay Martin, will be speaking on May 27th about “Finding Your Audience in the Mobile Generation.”
An amazing 82% of Americans never leave home without their mobile device. With that in mind, Lindsay will be giving tips on how to effectively market to a mobile audience. The idea is to help local businesses learn how to cater to people on the go.
The Internet is not the most friendly place for mobile device users. In fact, usability research guru Jacob Nielsen of the Nielsen Norman group says success rates are “abysmal” for accessing information on the Web compared to a regular PC.
Part of the seminar will include making sure your company website is up to the level of technology that people are using. This includes local Google search, search engine optimization (SEO), how to create a mobile-friendly website; short message service (SMS), or text messaging; and multimedia messaging service (MMS), or enhanced text messages. Lindsay will also cover different types of mobile devices that people are using and how to develop a mobile marketing plan that works.
