Retweet Reprieve

I have to admit: I was never a fan of the official Retweet button. Some things are just better DIY. I didn’t want to see strangers’ faces on my feed, and I wanted the freedom to edit tweets if I was going to retweet them myself. It’s not like it was difficult to avoid actually using the RT button, but its nice to see it gone for a while.

Of course, I realize that this reprieve is probably only temporary. The RT button has disappeared before in order to remove bugs, but as guardian.co.uk’s Technology Blog said, the problem might be in the function — not the code.

We’ll see how long this lasts. And in the mean time we have our regular disgruntled tweeters. . .

searching those hashtags does come in handy every once in a while
