First Post of the New Year: 2010, Here We Are

So the holidays are over. Finally. It’s back to work and time to settle into a groove.

We’ve had our share of festive things over the holidays, including watching Santa trot across the globe on NORAD and had the usual round of e-mails with dancing elves enhanced with the faces of people we know that couldn’t (or shouldn’t) dance.

The decorations on the search engines have now been replaced by everyday items, like that annoying apple falling off the tree. There was an obscene number of messages waiting for me in my inbox this morning as a reminder that it’s time to get serious.

So now is the time to look forward to the upcoming year and the promise it brings. I’m excited by the plans we have for the immediate future.

One of the things we at CM are planning to focus on in the upcoming year is mobile search for our clients. We kicked off our own mobile site not too long ago and have had (mostly) fun tinkering with some of the finer details. It’s amazing to see the creativity flow from some of the talented minds that I work with to come up with some great options and ideas for the site.

One of our goals as a company for 2010 is putting a stronger focus on our local community involvement. We are becoming more active in local charity and business events.

In the next few weeks we will return to providing search engine marketing seminars to local businesses in an effort to help them flourish in our little part of the world.  I, for one, am looking forward to it. Not only is it exciting to meet new people, but it’s a great way to get back into the swing of things after a long break.
