September 19, 2011 - VIRGINIA BEACH, VA — Internet marketing agency Customer Magnetism today announced a new 12-month charitable initiative called CM Cares. Each month for the next year, employees will have the option to take part in supporting a local charity through such events as a fund-raising walk, a food drive, or a clean-up day. The chosen charity will change every month, allowing Customer Magnetism to support many different types of charities over the course of the next year. These activities are in addition to CM’s ongoing monthly support of Orphan Helpers, an organization that supports and aids orphaned children in impoverished countries around the world.

“Our intention with CM Cares is not only to provide our employees with the time and opportunity to give back to the community on a regular basis,” states Customer Magnetism President Aaron Leslie, “but also to give much-needed help and exposure to a variety of local charities who are hurting in these uneven economic times.”

This new program builds on charitable efforts Customer Magnetism has engaged in previously—such as supporting Norfolk’s ForKids program and participating in the FAAN Walk for Food Allergy—and also reaches out to new charities to support them for the first time. In addition to CM Cares, Customer Magnetism also will be joining with other local companies to teach life and leadership skills to children in the Boys & Girls Club of Southeastern Virginia/ Eastern Shore.

CM Cares kicks off this week with members of the Customer Magnetism staff participating in the Virginia Beach SPCA’s 10th Annual Puttin’ for Paws Charity Golf Tournament, proceeds of which go towards caring for the 7,000+ animals the organization takes in each year. Employees are both participating in the tournament and serving as onsite operational volunteers.
